His guitar growls like a rabies-infested mutt, straight from the backyard of an Alabama whorehouse. The expletives he squawks are absolutely unintelligible, at least while the groan of his six stringed demon viciously dominates the aural realm. When the blanket of perfectly distorted guitar ends, which always coincides with a great victory stance, Mr. Log displays his propensity for what is only describable as ‘not giving a fuck’, which in his case takes the form of the perfect stage presence.

“Brooklyn via LA Pink Mexico plays a gritty brand of fuzz rock, but their airy melodies with psychedelic inflections counteract the harshness of their distorted sound.” – The Deli

“…the kind of fuzzy, driving garage punk that you can always trust Burger to put out.”

Kid Congo & the Pink Monkey Birds

Thursday September 29th

Kid Congo (Gun Club, The Cramps, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds)

returns with the Pink Monkey Birds

in support of the new album

Haunted Head

“Haunted Head" is the third LP Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds has oozed out for In The Red Records. Legendary guitar stylist Kid Congo Powers (The Gun Club, The Cramps, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds) and long time cohorts, bassist Kiki Solis (Knife In The Water), drummer Ron Miller (Up The Academy), and guitarist Jesse Roberts (Sandrider, The Ruby Doe) take matters into their own mitts by having Jesse engineer and Ron mix the record at the now well-known Harveyville Project High School in Kansas. “Haunted Head” reflects the band at its purest distillation. The Pink Monkey Birds create a cocktail of fuzz guitars, New Orleans drum beats, soulful strut bass lines, and sonic ambrosia from beyond.

Less than a year after the release of “Holy Water Pool” – Heaters’ debut, a crushing, revelatory psycho-surf-rock anointment-as-album – there are no apparent signs of distress to the engine that powers this Michigan-made vehicle of sound. To the contrary, Heaters are operating at a higher horsepower than ever before, as evidenced by the 2016 release of “Baptistina.”

“Baptistina” glimmers to a greater degree than anything Heaters have previously unleashed, a full-spectrum sheen that shines across the full panorama of righteous reverb riots. Heaters are in full control of their machine from the opening, looped-lunacy of “Centennial” to the final crash of “Seafoam,” forty-six minutes later – and yet the result of this increase in control can be heard as a willingness to crash their ship completely. But have faith in the pilots – Heaters are living for the next ride.

CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE

TALL TALES, LIVE MUSIC & CRIME SCENE PHOTOS

BOOK READING, SIGNING, Q&A + MUSIC: LIVE & UNPLUGGED

Power Pop legend from the Heartland,  Frank Secich (founding member of Blue Ash, Stiv Bators Band and Deadbeat Poets and member of the latter day Dead Boys) visits the dirty South to read from his acclaimed memoir, Circumstantial Evidence and perform songs from his storied, four decade career as a genre-defining pop music singer/songwriter, record producer and musician.

SATURDAY JULY 30TH AT LITTLE VINYL LOUNGE

Also starring Pete Drivere, Greg Kostelich (The Cynics), Zack Keim (Pittsburgh’s NOX BOYS), Theresa Kereakes, DJ VIKKI VADEN and more...

This is a FREE Non-Smoking event

Frank's autobiography features untold stories of his rock and roll journey with his bands Blue Ash, The Dead Boys, Stiv Bators Band, Club Wow and The Deadbeat Poets. Frank’s great tales and personable story-telling bring to life the birth of America’s power pop movement as well as punk rock. The many famous people Frank met and worked with along the way make appearances- from rock royalty such as Yoko Ono, Anita Pallenberg, Bebe Buell and Mick Jagger to underground, indie super heroes in the record biz: Greg Shaw, Paul Nelson and Bud Scoppa (all of whom worked with Frank and his bands).  There’s a lot of inside information and real rock n roll history to be had, seen and heard.

Pete Drivere (Deadbeat Poets, Infidels) accompanies Frank on the musical side of this tour. Together, they will perform music from Frank’s eclectic career.

On this leg of Frank’s on-going book tour, photos featured in Circumstantial Evidence by punk rock pioneering photographer, Theresa Kereakes will be exhibited and Kereakes will join Frank and Pete in telling the stories behind the scenes of those photos.  Theresa photographed the late Stiv Bators extensively in all of his music projects.  As one of Los Angeles’ original punk rockers, Kereakes started celebrating all of the genre’s red letter days starting in 2005 with her blog PUNK TURNS 30.

Zack Keim of Pittsburgh’s NOX BOYS will be opening these shows with his brand new folk set of originals and covers on this tour bridging the gap to the new generation. Gregg Kostelich of The Cynics will accompany him on some songs.
