Hank Williams was an American singer-songwriter and musician. Regarded as one of the most significant and influential country music musicians of all time, Williams recorded 35 singles (five released posthumously) that would place in the Top 10 of the Billboard Country & Western Best Sellers chart, including 11 that ranked number one. Widely considered Country Music's first superstar, the world he seemed to identify most with was the musical sounds that poured out of the radio and emanated from church choirs. Williams learned how to play folk, country and, from an African-American street musician named Rufus Payne, the blues.

Please join us as we celebrate the life of this legendary Country Music Godfather 4 days from what would have been his 91st birthday.

The Hank Williams show will benefit an organization called Mountain Justice, which raises funds for poverty stricken families, workers, and children who are living in the depths of rural Appalachia. The organization provides things such as summer camps, clothing, meals and continues ongoing work against Alpha Natural Resources to demand an end to Alpha's mountaintop removal practices in Appalachia. Money that's raised will help families of coal minors, etc.
