The founding fathers of Atlanta's Redneck Underground, Slim Chance & the Convicts have been twanging for 27 years. Formed in 1986 in order to keep GSU psychology grad students Slim & Dan from going crazy (along with Tony on drums), the Convicts quickly made a name for themselves by playing a veritable cornucopia of musical styles, most within the framework of traditional country music. With three albums and another on the way soon, the two time "Creative Loafing's Best Country Band" were instrumental in the creation of the storied Redneck Underground, a local scene that continues to this day. From the earliest shows at Georgia Retardation Center to The Austin Avenue Buffet, The White Dot, Ray Lee's, The Point, and The Star Bar, the mighty Convicts have also played such notable venues as Variety Playhouse, Lakewood Amphitheater, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge in Nashville, and many others. Many members have come and gone over the years, but a Convict show is always an evening of entertainment, filled with classic sounding and edgy original tunes, and a plethora of cover songs we love to play. As the convicts start their 28th year, the future looks good. We hope you will be a part of it.

Dubbed Atlanta's own "honky-tonk angel", Caroline Engel leads the fabulous Caroline & the Ramblers – a true Americana quartet who mix together Rockabilly, Country and a bit of Swing Blues. Comprised of vocals, electric guitar, slap bass, drums and pedal steel guitar, they provide a sound steeped deep in the roots of Americana music. As mainstays in the Atlanta music scene for a number of years, their versatility is evident to everyone who has seen them perform.

I Want Whisky transforms punk into southern roots music. By incorporating traditional styles and instrumentation, a wide range of influences – including Lead Belly, Bill Monroe, The Pogues, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and Woody Guthrie – and what some may call "subversive" subject matter, this Atlanta band breathes a new life into southern tradition with standards and original works alike. Their music displays a true American spirit; a spirit of life, love, good times, hard work, and rebellion.

The Ambulance Alley Sessions, Atlanta singer/songwriter Blake Rainey’s 3rd solo release, could be called more of a snapshot of a specific time and place than a typical album. Recorded near Grady Memorial in the Winter of 2005 in Atlanta’s historic Old Fourth Ward, The AA Sessions is a live in-studio (or live in-industrial loft, to be exact) exploitation of Rainey’s emotionally pitch-perfect live performance skills; an of-the-moment, you-had-to-be-there evening recorded just before the songwriter’s other outfit, The Young Antiques, resurged from nowhere. The music is dark, introspective, decidedly homespun and utterly Americana—a blossoming of Rainey’s more acoustic side slowly starting to form. Shortly after their cut to tape, these recordings and all solo outings were shelved for 6 years to make room for the ‘Tiques’ power pop trio comeback.

Rainey is currently recording a new full-length album with Tim Delaney (Swimming Pool Q's) and Marlow Sanchez of Atlanta band All Night Drug Prowling Wolves, in which he was also a guitarist.
